Android 5.0 To Debut in the Fall?
Google isn’t offering much information about the forthcoming Android 5.0, even though there are rumors saying that the new version of the operating system will be available on a smartphone by early summer.
It’s more likely that it will be rolled out in the fall, based on comments made by Hiroshi Lockheimer, vice president of engineering for mobile at Google. He spoke with Computerworld at Mobile World Congress here on Monday.
“After Android 4 comes 5, and we haven’t announced the timing yet, which we’re still sorting out,” Lockheimer said. “There’s a lot of engineering work behind it still, and there’s also just the question of how to time it.”
Lockheimer added: “In general, the Android release cadence is one major release a year with some maintenance releases that are substantial still.” That statement would suggest a fall 2012 time frame for the release of Android 5.0, given that Android 4.0 was released last November, he acknowledged.
Nonetheless, Lockheimer added a caveat: “Having said that, we’re flexible. The [timing of releases] is not what drives us, but what does is innovation and offering users a great experience.”
Lockheimer wouldn’t divulge the dessert that will be used as a code name for Android 5.0, which follows Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), as Version 4.0 is known. Google is already getting suggestions for sweets that begin with the letter J, he said. Earlier versions of the mobile operating system were called Cup Cake (1.5) , Donut (2.0), Eclair (2.1), Froyo (2.2), Gingerbread (2.3) and Honeycomb (3.0).

Learn How To Keep Your Passport Safe While Traveling Internationally
Passports are necessary for travel in the modern world. Unfortunately, a stolen pasport can ruin a trip very quickly. This situation can present a multitude of difficulties as a person will have to obtain a duplicate passport before they can return home. It can be quite difficult to get a passport today as the threat of terrorism continues to grow. This has lengthened the time required to get a passport more than ever before. A privatized company is the best choice for anyone to get their passport on time as they can ensure that documents are had in as little as 24 hours.
Application Process
Passports are given to qualifying citizens by the US Department of State. There is generally a tedious application process that is required before a passport can be issued. Expedition is available, but it still takes several weeks to complete the process. The best option for a person who must make an immediate overseas trip is to choose services that are offered from an independent, expedited U.S. passport agency. They can provide an individual with all of the necessary paperwork to leave the country within 24 hours.
Passport Protection
There are several ways that a person can prevent their passport from being stolen. It is important to keep passports safe at home and abroad. Experts recommend that when traveling to another country you keep your passport in a safe place that no one but the holder can access. This eliminates the chances that a burglar can steal these documents. There are several tips that can ensure anyone is able to enter and leave a foreign country without losing their passport.
Concierge Services
Hotels and other establishments regularly have safety deposit boxes at the front desk, and visitors are encouraged to leave their passports with the concierge when they check in. There is no need to have documentation while traveling throughout a country. You won’t need it and carrying it around only increases the possibility of having it stolen. Passports can easily be picked up from the concierge at checkout time. This is a very responsible way to protect your passport when traveling abroad.
If Stolen
If a traveler does have their passport stolen while they are on vacation, there are a few things they should do immediately. The local consulate should be alerted of the situation. They will contact the authorities and tell them of a missing passport. This will hopefully enable a person to recover their original documents. Embassies will also help citizens make the required arrangements to have a duplicate passport issued. This is required before a person can Travel back into the United States of America.

Considerations When Installing Exterior Louver
Louvers provide ventilation allowing air to pass through a window while at the same time keeping unwanted elements such as dirt, water, and other debris out. Exterior architectural louvers feature a number of fixed or operable blades that are mounted in a frame. There are many factors to consider when dicing upon exterior architectural louver.
Factors
These factors that must be taken into consideration include free area, water penetration, and resistance to airflow. By properly configuring the free area as well as the water penetration the pressure loss, or resistance to airflow can be determined. This will allow for the best solution in terms of installing louvers.
Free Area
Free area is an important aspect to consider when thinking about installing louvers. The free area is calculated by determining the total area of the obstructed air flow in comparison to the overall wall opening. The complete louvered opening versus the unobstructed opening will most often fall within the ranges of 35% to 60%. A high percentage of free area is very beneficial. This will allow for an optimized amount of air flow to a smaller wall opening.
Obstruction
Obstruction is needed in order to prevent water from entering. A fully obstructed opening allows for no water to enter. A completely unobstructed opening would let water enter unimpeded. However, a louver that is proper designed taking calculations into consideration will be able to maximize the free area while allowing for a minimal amount of water to enter.
Water Penetration
Water penetration is considered when figuring the velocity of air intake. The first point of water penetration is the exact point in which the louver will let water enter. By figuring the threshold measurement of the air intake velocity the water penetration point will be determined. This calculation will allow for the best louver installation.
Resistance to Air Flow
Any obstruction to the air stream will cause a resistance. This includes louvers, filters, coils, ductwork, and even the structure of the building. The actual resistance provided by the louver is calculated by measuring the air that run thought the louver while also calculating the pressure difference at any given free area velocity.
Aerodynamics
Louvers will create a resistance to air flow. This is because they cause an obstruction. The frame of the sun control louvers as well as the shape of the blade determines the resistance of the air flow. Blades that are of lover angles will have a more aerodynamic shape that allows for less resistance. In order to fully figure the resistance to airflow the free velocity allowed by the louver must be determined. It is very important to figure out the resistance because this will help maximize air flow.
